During my recent visit to Lanzarote, I had the pleasure of staying at Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada, part of the Hyatt Inclusive Group of properties – a resort that effortlessly blends elegance, warmth, and world-class service. At the heart of this oasis is Enrique, the resort’s passionate Guest Experience Manager, whose energy and attention to detail help make every stay unforgettable. I sat down with Enrique to discover what makes this dreamy resort such a favourite for Irish holidaymakers—and why it’s much more than just another all-inclusive.

Ed Finn: Enrique, it’s such a pleasure to be here at Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada. Thank you for taking the time to chat with me.
Enrique: Thank you, Ed. It’s a pleasure to have you here. Welcome to our little piece of paradise in Lanzarote.
Ed Finn: So Enrique, tell me a bit about your own journey. Where are you originally from?
Enrique: I’m from Cádiz, in the south of Spain—Andalucía. I started my career working in hotels there, then I moved to Madrid for a number of years, gaining experience in big-city hospitality. But eventually, I felt the pull of island life, and now I’m here in Lanzarote—and I absolutely love it.
Ed: Quite a change—from the buzz of Madrid to the calm of Lanzarote. Do you enjoy the contrast?
Enrique: Yes, very much. Life here is more relaxed. I love the natural beauty of the island. There’s something magical about the volcanic landscapes. And for me, I really enjoy cycling—Lanzarote is fantastic for that. The terrain, the views, the peace—it’s a dream for outdoor lovers.
Ed: And of course, the food?
Enrique: [laughs] Absolutely! The food is incredible here. Fresh fish, papas arrugadas, mojo sauce… I enjoy it all. And the climate—what can I say? Sunshine almost every day. It’s a lifestyle you fall in love with.
Ed: And you’re still only what—three hours from Madrid?
Enrique: Exactly. Just a short flight away. So I still feel connected, but with the bonus of living in paradise.
Ed: It really is paradise. There’s something about this resort—it’s calm, elegant, and full of good energy. Tell me a little about what makes Dreams Lanzarote so special?
Enrique: Absolutely. At Dreams Lanzarote Playa Dorada, we focus on offering our guests a premium experience with the perfect blend of relaxation and excitement. We’re an all-inclusive, family-friendly resort, but we also cater for adults looking for a romantic or tranquil getaway. We have incredible views, direct beach access, multiple pools, and of course, our amazing spa.
Ed: I experienced the spa yesterday and I have to say—it’s one of the best on the island. That hydrotherapy circuit is something else!
Enrique: Yes! Our spa is definitely one of our highlights. It’s designed to help you disconnect and recharge. And I’m glad you enjoyed the hydrotherapy—it’s very popular.
Ed: What kind of guests do you find are drawn to Dreams? Do you get a lot of Irish people coming here?
Enrique: Oh yes! We love welcoming Irish guests. They’re friendly, fun, and they really appreciate the beauty of Lanzarote. Dreams is really a great destination for couples, families, honeymooners, and even solo travellers. We have something for everyone—activities, kids’ clubs, live entertainment, and of course, a wide selection of food and drink options.
Ed: Speaking of food Enrique I’ve eaten like a king since I arrived. The quality and variety are top-notch.
Enrique: Thank you Ed. That’s what we aim for. We have several à la carte restaurants as well as a buffet, and we try to include something for every taste—local Canarian dishes, Mediterranean, Asian fusion, and international classics.
Ed: One of the things I love is how it feels very chilled and elegant but still inclusive. There’s no rush, no stress. Very Dreamy indeed 🙂
Enrique: That’s our ethos. We want our guests to feel at ease from the moment they arrive. It’s about creating special moments—sunsets, cocktails by the pool, quiet time in the spa, or a lively evening show. We offer the “Preferred Club” upgrade too, which gives guests added luxuries like private lounges, upgraded mini-bars, and exclusive areas.
Ed: I thought that the upgrade was so worth it and the service has been outstanding.
Enrique: We’re so glad to hear that. We believe the details matter—personal service, cleanliness, atmosphere. Our team works really hard to create an oasis of happiness.
